BUY NOWThree Ships Whisky 12-Year-Old Double Wood Blend is the sixth limited edition released as part of the Master’s Collection.
Our Master Distiller, Andy Watts, matured the whisky in double wood, the malt component over a 12 years in American oak and seasoned Amontillado casks. The grain spent 12 years in a combination of younger and older American oak and seasoned Amontillado casks. Although a drier style, the use of seasoned Amontillado casks imparted a wonderful sweet nuttiness to this impressive double matured blend of grain and malt whisky.
Limited edition: Only 2 670 bottles released.
TASTING NOTES:
Colour: Reminiscent of a Highveld sunset as the sun dips behind the rolling grasslands.
Nose: An unravelling of toffee apple, nuts, lemon zest, marmalade, banana, dried fruit and coconut shavings.
Palate: Incredible combination of citrus, slight spice and cinnamon with salted peanuts
coats the mouth.
Finish: A long, lingering, softly spiced and delicately sweet finish. -
Bain’s Founders Collection Whisky 18 Year Old Px Cask Finish
BUY NOWThis 18-year-old single grain whisky started its life off as Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky which was awarded the World’s Best Grain Whisky at the 2013 and 2018 World Whiskies Awards held in London. Bain’s is made from 100% sun-kissed South African grain and spends its first three years maturing in first fill casks previously used for bourbon before being re-vatted into a fresh set of first fill exbourbon casks for a further two years. In crafting this 18-year-old Pedro Ximénez (PX) Cask Finish, the whisky spent an additional 10 years maturing in American oak before being finished individually for three years in PX sherry casks.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Dark ebony
Nose: Big and full-bodied with sweet notes of raisins, figs and dates
Taste: Velvety smooth with a syrupy mouth-feel, hints of honey and candied fruit and a well-balanced sweetness
Finish: The finish is warm with a long, silky-smooth ending

The whisky started life as Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky and spent an additional ten years in older.
American oak before transferred to seasoned Amontillado and Manzanilla sherry casks for a final six years’ maturation.Only three of each sherry cask were selected for the final whisky, which reveals typical sherry influences of nuts, dried fruit, and lingering spice.
Tasting notes:
Beautiful dark, rich amber in colour with complex layers of fruit and spice from the seasoned sherry casks blending seamlessly with the sweeter notes of the single grain whisky.
Nose: Sticky toffee pudding, Turkish apricots, sultanas, coconut tea biscuits and hints of flower blossom.Taste: Cinnamon, almonds and hazelnuts with delightful salted caramel and hints

Three Ships Whisky 11yo Single Malt Shiraz Cask Finish

Andy first matured single malt whisky in American Oak barrels for eight years before finishing it in seasoned Shiraz oak casks for another three years. The warm South African climate accelerates maturation, softening the whisky at an earlier age.
